Michael Madsen, the renowned actor known for his iconic roles in films like "Reservoir Dogs" and "Thelma & Louise," has finally taken the first step towards liberation from his 26-year-long marriage. The 66-year-old star filed for divorce from his estranged wife, DeAnna Madsen, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation. However, Madsen's statement reveals a more complex and tumultuous journey that led to his decision.
The couple's troubles began shortly after their son Hudson's tragic death in January 2022. Madsen believes that his wife's neglect, drinking, and alcoholism drove their son to take his own life. He also accuses DeAnna of significantly contributing to his personal issues, making him a victim in an abusive, co-dependent, and toxic relationship. The tension culminated in DeAnna breaking into Madsen's residence, resulting in his wrongful arrest for domestic violence.
Madsen's attorney, Perry C. Wander, corroborates the actor's account, stating that the couple's marriage unraveled after Hudson's death and ended when Madsen was "wrongfully arrested" for domestic violence. Madsen has now filed for a temporary restraining order against DeAnna, seeking protection from the toxic relationship.
