Imagine this: over 13,000 migrants who have been convicted of murder are roaming free in the United States. This is according to a recent report from the Department of Homeland Security. The numbers don’t stop there – another 15,000 migrants have been convicted of sexual assault. These figures might even be lower than the actual number because they only include crimes committed within the U.S.
So, how did we get here? The current immigration policies under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are being blamed for this situation. A letter to Rep. Tony Gonzalez (R-TX) from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner reveals that there are around 7 million migrants living freely in the country. Out of these, more than 425,000 have criminal records, and nearly 222,000 have pending charges.
Let’s break it down: out of those with criminal records, 13,099 are convicted murderers and 15,811 are convicted sexual offenders. But remember, these numbers only include crimes committed in the U.S., not in their home countries.
Why is this happening? By law, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should deport all illegal immigrants. However, the Biden-Harris administration has a policy that doesn’t allow for the deportation of migrants unless they have committed violent crimes within the U.S. Even then, many Democrat-controlled areas refuse to cooperate with ICE on these cases.
Former President Donald Trump has promised voters he will start mass deportations if elected. This would target the 425,000 criminal migrants we’re talking about here. A vote for him is a vote to remove these criminals from U.S. soil. On the other hand, a vote for Harris would mean letting these criminal migrants continue to roam free.
