Growing up, Tyson attended Catholic church and had a religious upbringing. But as his life became more chaotic, religion took a backseat. It was only when things spiraled out of control that he turned to Islam. The faith resonated with him, and he started learning the Quran. Tyson has said that Islam has given him a sense of discipline and helped him strive to be a better person.
Tyson’s conversion was a personal journey that took time. He changed his name to Malik Abdul Aziz, which means “king” and “servant of the almighty. ” However, he admitted to being a “lazy Muslim” due to his busy life. Despite this, he respects Islam deeply and wants to die as a Muslim.
