Ever thought about how we check for HIV? Well, one of the top tests, the Architect-HIV Ag/Ab combo, is great at finding the virus early, but it can sometimes give false positives. That's where Mindray's new test, the CL900i, comes in. Scientists tried out this new test on 195 old samples. These samples were checked with the best test we have, called INNO-LIA™ HIV I/II. Some samples were true positives, meaning they had HIV. Others were true negatives, which meant no HIV. A few were false positives, where the Architect-HIV test said they had HIV but they didn't. Finally, some had indeterminate results, meaning the test was unsure.
The Mindray CL900i was tested on all these samples. It caught all the true positives, had no false positives, and the results matched perfectly with the INNO-LIA™ confirmatory test. Plus, it had a much lower false-positive rate compared to the Architect-HIV. This makes Mindray's CL900i a super-accurate and cost-effective option for HIV screening.
