Minnesota's Big Freeze is Almost Here!
Minnesota, Tower, USAFriday, January 17, 2025
Douglas also warned about dangerous wind chills and the risks of frostbite and hypothermia. But even with all this cold, Minnesota's record low is still pretty far off. The coldest it ever got was -60 °F way back in 1996 in Tower, Minnesota.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources explained that the air mass that caused this record low also made it really cold everywhere else in the state. Polar weather like this doesn't happen every day.
As soon as this super cold spell ends, the weather will warm up a bit. So, bundle up, Minnesota! This is one cold wave you won’t want to miss!
