MIT's Game-Changing Initiatives: Empowering Kids Through STEM

Scratch has been translated into over 70 languages, with more than a billion projects created on its platform. The Computer Clubhouse Network has expanded to 151 locations in 20 countries, with 93% of participants expressing a desire to continue their education after high school.
The Fab Lab Network has established 2,700 makerspaces in 150 countries, providing students with the tools and resources to develop their own project ideas. And FIRST robotics competitions have brought together teams from nearly 200 countries, fostering a global community of young innovators.
MIT's initiatives have undoubtedly changed the world by empowering kids to take an active role in shaping their own educational experiences. But as we celebrate their success, let us also critically examine their assumptions and limitations, and strive to create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
