Movie Director Stands By AI Use in The Brutalist
Budapest, HungaryTuesday, January 21, 2025
As for the visuals, Corbet assured that no AI was involved in creating or rendering the buildings seen in the film. Instead, artists drew them by hand. However, a memorial video in the background was designed to look like pixelated 1980s computer graphics. Corbet emphasized that "The Brutalist" is all about human effort and creativity, highlighting the team's hard work.
The controversy began after editor Dávid Jancsó revealed that AI was used in the film. Jancsó stressed the importance of discussing the tools AI offers, pointing out that it just speeds up the process and adds details that might otherwise be missed due to time or budget constraints.
