The Friday update showed that the top five movies were on track to gross close to $78M, significantly higher than last year's $56M. Despite the cold snap predicted by Winter Storm Blair, the moviegoers didn't seem deterred. Some films, like Babygirl, showed steady growth, thanks to positive word-of-mouth.
