A new coffee haven has emerged in Norge, occupying the former space of Anonymous Coffee. Elite Coffee & Lounge, helmed by Jacob and Hayriye Tasci, officially opened its doors on November 26th. The couple, who relocated from Turkey a few years ago, are infusing the area with their coffee prowess.

From Lawyer and Teacher to Coffee Entrepreneurs

Jacob, formerly a lawyer, and Hayriye, a former teacher, share a deep passion for coffee. They previously operated a coffee shop in Turkey before making the move. Now, they're back in the coffee scene, offering nearly 50 different coffee options—ranging from international favorites to exclusive blends unique to their shop. Their menu also features homemade desserts like tiramisu, cheesecake, and carrot cake.

A Commitment to Natural and Organic

The Tascis prioritize natural, organic ingredients, aiming to ensure their customers' happiness and well-being. They're also planning a grand opening event, though the date is yet to be announced. For now, you can find them at the Williamsburg Farmers Market and their shop at 7500 Richmond Road, open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A Community Staple Says Goodbye

Meanwhile, an old favorite is bidding farewell. The Old Chickahominy House, a beloved Southern comfort food restaurant, is up for sale. It has been a community cornerstone for 70 years. The 6,700-square-foot building is listed for $950,000 and could be repurposed for a restaurant, boutique medical office, or retail shop.

The restaurant first opened in 1955 and relocated to its current location after a robbery made the original spot unsafe. The current owner, Dan Kennedy, has remained tight-lipped about the sale. However, it's evident that this marks a significant shift for the community.
