New Faces and Fond Farewells at Manchester Schools
New Board Members Sworn In
Manchester Local Schools recently swore in two new board members to fill vacant seats.
Krisi Gindlesperger was appointed to replace Steve Rector, who stepped down to become the mayor of New Franklin. Gindlesperger will serve the remaining two years of Rector's term and may run for a full term afterward.
Dale Jolly, elected in November, will take over for Joe Hercules, who chose not to run again. Jolly's swearing-in will take place at the next meeting in January.
A Heartfelt Farewell
The board took a moment to thank Rector and Hercules for their dedicated service. Both were praised for their expertise in school buildings, which was crucial during challenging times, especially with facility projects.
"Rector and Hercules always did what was best for the students. They were good guys who cared about kids." - Richard Sponseller, Board Member
Hercules expressed gratitude to Cindy McDonald for her support when he first joined the board. He reflected on the board's achievements, noting that the district is now in a better place. His proudest moment was helping build the new high school on budget, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Hercules is currently studying to become a deacon.
