New Home Hub Opens in Lancaster County

The first wave of new homes is starting to rise at Mi‑Place, a mixed‑use spot in the Shops @Rockvale area of East Lampeter Township. Instead of waiting for the whole plan, builders are tackling four stories in four buildings right away, each with 32 units. Residents can choose one‑bedroom, two‑bedroom or three‑bedroom layouts. Once all the phases finish, a total of 15 buildings will stand, offering 480 apartments that can be reached by elevators. The move from a draft to concrete is steady, with the project aiming to blend living, shopping and eating into one vibrant place.

Leasing is set for late 2026 and the first families are expected to move in by spring of 2027. The Shops @Rockvale’s makeover, which costs about $100 million, will bring not only homes but also shops, restaurants, entertainment spots and more. Other updates on the site include fresh facades, brighter parking lights, new roofs and rooftop upgrades that will later hold solar panels. These changes help make the whole complex safer, brighter and greener. The effort reflects a broader trend of turning shopping centers into lively communities where people can live, shop and enjoy local life without traveling far.
