William Paterson University is embarking on a significant project to enhance its health and sports programs. The university has commenced construction on a new $40 million center, set to become a cornerstone for student wellness and academic excellence.
A Monumental Expansion
The new facility will span two floors and cover an impressive 55,000 square feet, making it more than twice the size of the current sports center.
Academic and Wellness Hub
The center will serve as a multifunctional space, featuring:
- Classrooms and Labs: Dedicated spaces for health-related programs.
- Specialized Programs: Sports medicine, exercise physiology, and physical education.
- Graduate Studies: Master's degree courses in athletic training and sport administration.
Comprehensive Health Services
The Counseling, Health and Wellness Center will include:
- A health clinic with a women's health center, lab, pharmacy, and exam rooms.
- Counseling services to support mental wellness.
- A 25-yard natatorium and a multipurpose gym for physical activities.
Funding and Timeline
