New Jersey Drones: Flight Restrictions on Key Spots

Drones are being grounded over certain areas in New Jersey. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has rolled out new rules that limit drone flights over important places like power stations and infrastructure. These rules only apply to drones and not to regular planes or helicopters. The move comes after an increase in drone sightings in the Northeast, even though officials say there's no real safety threat.

This isn't the first time drones have been restricted. Bans have been in place over Trump's golf course in Bedminster and the Picatinny Arsenal since late November. The new restrictions cover spots like the Cedar Grove Switching Station and the Hudson Switching Station. They will last until mid-January. The Department of Homeland Security said these rules are just a precaution. They were put in place after requests from federal security partners. The goal is to keep drones away from places that are critical for the state's infrastructure.
