New Tech Lead at Maybank: Meet Giorgio Migliarina

Maybank has a new tech boss! His name is Giorgio Migliarina, and he's stepping into the role of Group Chief Technology and Digital Officer come November 1, 2024. His job? To make sure all of Maybank's systems are resilient and robust, and to plan the bank's tech strategy for the future. He'll also work on enhancing Maybank's digital capabilities to better serve customers. Giorgio's taking over from Mohd Suhail Amar Suresh Abdullah, who's moving to a new role as a Senior Advisor in the President & Group CEO's Office. Giorgio, who's 56, has a impressive CV. He's got over 28 years of experience in telecommunications and tech, working with big names like Telekom Malaysia, Vodafone, and McKinsey & Co. He's handled everything from next-gen networks to digital products. With his MBA from INSEAD and Master's in Electronic Engineering, he's well-equipped for the job.

Maybank's President & Group CEO, Khairussaleh Ramli, is excited to have Giorgio on board. He thinks Giorgio's experience will help Maybank deliver better services to its many customers, thanks to a strong, secure, and efficient tech foundation. Before leaving his role, Suhail did great work improving Maybank's tech and strengthening its in-house team. Khairussaleh believes Suhail will continue to make a positive impact in his new role, particularly with Maybank Indonesia's core banking system and its agile transformation.
