Because Trump’s team thinks she might attract female voters who were on the fence about him. Haley could be appearing with Trump at a Fox News event this October, according to insiders. Trump has been trying to win over female voters for a while. He’s held town halls with Republican female governors, but some say Haley could reach different kinds of voters. She gets good media coverage and might appeal to women who aren’t sure about Trump personally. Even though Haley criticized Trump during the primaries and tried to position herself as a more moderate alternative, she’s been helping him out. She did a robocall supporting Trump, even though she doesn’t agree with him all the time. And there’s a billboard in Milwaukee showing off her endorsement. Trump’s campaign is thinking about how to use Haley best. They want to close the gender gap, and they hope Haley can help. Though Trump thinks he does well with women, some polls show otherwise. But he’s looking for any edge he can get, even if it means working with someone he wasn’t always friends with.
