Nikola Tesla’s Legacy: Untangling Fact from Fiction
Monday, November 25, 2024
X-rays are another case where Tesla gets more credit than he deserves. He did discover the principles behind X-rays and even created some of the first X-ray images. But it was German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen who officially discovered X-rays and is recognized for it.
As for the smartphone, well, that’s a stretch. Tesla’s work on wireless communication did lay some groundwork, but the smartphone is the result of decades of advancements in electronics, computing, and wireless technology. Many inventors and scientists contributed to its development, not just Tesla.
It’s important to separate fact from fiction when it comes to Tesla’s inventions. While he was a remarkable innovator, many of the things attributed to him are either exaggerated or outright false. This doesn’t diminish his accomplishments, but it's crucial to understand the true impact of his work.
