Seoul, South KoreaSaturday, October 19, 2024
Meanwhile, North Korea is making threats against South Korea. They accused the South of sending drones with anti-North Korean leaflets and said they'd attack if it happens again. North Korea even blew up old roads and railway sections that linked them to the South. They're angry with South Korea's conservative government.
Things have been tense on the Korean Peninsula since 2022. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been testing more weapons and making threats because of the war in Ukraine. The US, South Korea, and Japan have been doing more military exercises together and making their nuclear strategies stronger.
After the talks, South Korea's Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong Kyun said they won't stand for North Korea's threats. They plan to keep their military strong and work closely with the US and Japan.
