Old Man Trips Back to the Store, Young Drivers Speed Down Roads

Bainbridge Township, Ohio, USAFriday, March 13, 2026

In late February, a 73‑year‑old man from Aurora was found outside a local convenience store—again. He had been legally barred from the premises on December 6 and slipped back in on December 10, earning a trespassing ticket. He missed the subsequent court date.

On February 26, police discovered him walking with a woman who claimed her roommate had beaten her at his Aurora home. The officers handed the woman over to Aurora authorities for assault and took the man back to Geauga County on a pending warrant.

A few days later, at 9:30 p.m. on February 28, a patrol officer in the same area pulled over a driver speeding at 98 mph on a road that limits travel to 65 mph. The 23‑year‑old from Uniontown said he was rushing to deliver food. He received citations for both speeding and reckless driving.

That same night, near Lake Lucerne on Chillicothe Road, police stopped a 17‑year‑old boy traveling at 76 mph in a 40 mph zone. He claimed he didn’t realize he was speeding. The officer issued citations for the same offenses.

These incidents illustrate how quickly everyday people can slip into risky behavior—whether it’s trespassing, assault allegations, or reckless driving. The local police maintain a daily record of such events and share them with the community through a free email newsletter.
