Oman Air's Business Studio: A Plush Upgrade in the Skies
Bangkok to Muscat, OmanTuesday, November 19, 2024
The amenity kit is a nice perk, featuring skincare products and perfume from the renowned Omani brand Amouage. And let's not forget the 23” screen offering a library of movies and TV shows. Plus, Business Studio passengers get three hours of free WiFi, though the service can be a bit spotty.
The dining experience is another highlight. You get the same meals and drinks as business class, but with a touch of elegance. The menu offers both Modern European and Omani flavors. From Arabic coffee with dates to grilled sea bass with coconut lemon sauce, the choices are diverse and delicious. And yes, alcohol is served onboard, including options like Charles Heidsieck Rosé Champagne.
However, there are a few things missing. A mattress topper for the bedding would be a nice addition, and storage for compact carry-on like backpacks or shoes is limited. Since there are no overhead luggage bins in the 787’s first class cabin, your carry-on is stored in the galley, which isn't very convenient.
In summary, Oman Air's Business Studio is a significant upgrade from typical business class, offering a true first-class experience at a slightly more affordable price. With Oman Air joining the Oneworld alliance, it's worth considering for your next trip.
