Oppo's New Phone Brings Back the Camera Button, Challenging iPhone 16

Let's talk about Oppo's latest flagship phones, the Find X8 and X8 Pro. Launched in China on Thursday, these phones pack some serious features, one of which is a shutter button that might remind you of the iPhone 16. The X8 Pro, the premium version, starts at around $745, while the X8 is more affordable at about $590. The X8 Pro is loaded with tech. It's got a big 6. 78-inch screen and runs on Mediatek's latest Dimensity 9400 chip. The battery is a whopper too, with a 5, 910-mAh capacity that supports super-fast charging. But let's talk cameras. Oppo is known for its camera tech, and the X8 Pro doesn't disappoint. It's got a Hasselblad camera module with four 50-megapixel lenses, including telephoto ones with 6x and 3x optical zoom.

At the launch, Oppo showed off the camera's motion-capture skills, snapping a photo of a dog mid-jump and comparing it to the iPhone 16 Pro. Apart from that, there's a new camera button similar to the one on the iPhone 16. It's pressure-sensitive and lets you take photos and zoom in or out. There's also an alert slider for easy ring/silent/vibrate toggling. Oppo isn't shy about its AI features either. The phones have AI tools that remove glare and can identify landmarks or animals in photos, similar to features on other smartphones. Oppo hasn't given a date for the international release yet, but rumors suggest it might happen this year.
