Oregon's Coastal Warning: Giant Waves Alert!
Oregon Coast, USAFriday, November 1, 2024
So, if you're planning a beach day in Oregon, think again! Stay away from the water's edge and those rocky jetties. The waves could suddenly rush up the beach further than you'd expect, catch you off guard, and sweep you away. They can also carry heavy driftwood and logs that could hurt you.
Not only are the beaches dangerous, but also the seas. There's a warning for boaters too, as the waves are really steep and strong winds might flip or damage boats. Visibility could be low, making it hard to see where you're going. So, if you're a boater, it's best to stay in port or find a safe harbor.
Meanwhile, other parts of Oregon are getting ready for heavy snow in the mountains. Some areas might get up to three feet of snow! So, if you're driving, make sure you have a winter emergency kit in your car with things like a flashlight, blankets, water, and food.
