Phoenix’s 2026 Entertainment Boom: New Wheels, Walls and Wonder
Phoenix, Arizona, USATuesday, April 28, 2026
Science buffs will be drawn to the International Dark Sky Discovery Center in Fountain Hills, scheduled for a fall 2026 opening. The $28 million complex covers 23, 000 square feet and houses the largest telescope in the metro area, a planetarium, a theater and an Einstein exploration station. Its goal is to teach about astronomy while showing how dark skies help wildlife, health and the environment.
Indoor fun will expand with two Rush Funplex locations: one in Goodyear (spring 2026) and another in Laveen (December 2026). These centers will feature go‑karts, bowling, mini‑golf, laser tag, a foam pit and more, with hourly or daily passes that unlock all attractions.
The long‑delayed Mattel Adventure Park, set to open at the VAI Resort in Glendale, will bring beloved characters like Barbie and Hot Wheels into a 9‑acre indoor‑outdoor setting. The park’s opening date is still unknown, but the resort plans to announce it nine months ahead of time.
