Pictures Show Biden’s Son with Chinese Business Partners

Newly revealed photos show then-Vice President Joe Biden meeting some of his son Hunter Biden’s Chinese business partners during an official trip to China in 2013. Hunter was also seen with his father meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping and other high-ranking officials. These images, released by the National Archives, show Hunter introducing his father to executives from the private equity firm BHR Partners. Despite these encounters, Hunter and others involved claim no substantial business discussions took place. However, these photos raise questions about Joe Biden’s previous statements that he had no business-related contact with his son.

Hunter’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, defended the photos, stating they align with Hunter’s congressional testimony. Lowell criticized efforts to misinterpret the images as part of political attacks. America First Legal, a pro-Trump group, obtained the records through a public records request and lawsuit. They argue the photos support findings that Hunter facilitated access to his father’s political power for business gain. The White House has dismissed the photos as old news, noting that House Republicans already investigated and found no evidence of business dealings between the President and his son. Hunter faced scrutiny and tax crime charges related to his foreign business deals, but was never accused of corruption. Joe Biden pardoned Hunter for these crimes, which included unpaid taxes from overseas deals.
