Pinellas County's Hurricane Milton Update: Power, Water, and Recovery

Pinellas County is still feeling the effects of Hurricane Milton, with fuel shortages, long gas lines, and piles of debris lining the streets. But there's good news too! The city of St. Petersburg and nearby areas have lifted their boil water notices. This means the water is safe to drink again after thorough testing. As of Monday morning, about 94,000 residents with Duke Energy are still without power. But don't worry, they expect to have power back by Tuesday night. Until then, treat any traffic signals without power as four-way stops.

Over the weekend, the county cleared out over 14,000 cubic yards of storm debris. That's a lot of trash! There are also places to go for help. The Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo and the Enoch D. Davis Center in St. Petersburg are open daily as Disaster Recovery Centers. Unfortunately, Hurricane Milton has claimed two lives in St. Petersburg.
