Pixel Weather Update: New Features, New Issues
Wednesday, March 12, 2025
Google has been tweaking the Pixel Weather app a lot lately. In January, a bug made some options disappear, but it was fixed quickly. The latest update makes it easier to change the units of measurement. Before, this was tied to your phone's settings. Now, you can change it directly in the app. This is a big plus for people who prefer metric or imperial units.
The Pixel Weather app has come a long way since it was first released with the Pixel 9 series. It's more advanced than the old weather app. But there are still areas where it falls short. For example, you can't quickly check the weather for a city without saving it. This is a feature that many users would find useful.
The app has a precipitation map and customizable widgets. These are great features. But the recent update shows that there's still room for improvement. The new "Save" button is a step in the right direction. But the duplication issue needs to be fixed. And the ability to check the weather for other cities without saving them would be a welcome addition.
