Pixel Weather Widgets Get a Location Fix
Los Angeles, CA, USA,Wednesday, April 23, 2025
The good news is that recent updates have resolved this problem. Both the Pixel Weather app and the Google app have been updated to ensure that the location shown in the widgets and At a Glance matches the precise location used by Pixel Weather. This means that when users tap on the weather widgets or At a Glance, they will now see the accurate forecast for their exact location.
The fix has been rolling out gradually. It is now available on devices running the stable Android 15 release. However, users on the Android 16 Beta 3. 1 might still encounter the old behavior. The update also includes a small but noticeable change: the text "Source: Google Weather" now appears at the bottom of the widget, indicating the source of the weather information.
This update is a welcome improvement for Pixel users who depend on accurate weather information. It shows Google's commitment to refining its features based on user feedback. The change might seem small, but it makes a big difference in the user experience, ensuring that the weather information displayed is always relevant and precise.
