Plane Crash in Kazakhstan: Survivors, Causes, and Reactions

Imagine being on a plane that suddenly hits a flock of birds, losing control, and needing to emergency land in thick fog. That's what happened to Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 564. Out of 62 passengers and 5 crew members, 29 were taken to hospitals in Kazakhstan. The Embraer 190 aircraft was traveling from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia, but had to divert to Aktau, Kazakhstan. Videos showed the plane erupting in flames after hitting the ground. Some passengers climbed out of the tail, assisted by emergency workers.

Passengers were from different countries, including Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Nine survivors were seriously injured. Rescue efforts were in full swing. The cause? A bird strike, which led to the pilot's decision to find the nearest airport in the heavy fog. Rumors swirled about an oxygen canister explosion that may have caused many to pass out.
