The PlayStation Portal just got a significant upgrade, and it's not just about aesthetics. Now, you can stream your PS5 games directly to the device, no console needed. This feature is live now, but only if you're a PS Plus Premium subscriber. That means you can access over 2,800 PS5 games, including hundreds from PS Plus Extra and Premium. So, if you own a game or got it through PS Plus, you're good to go.

New Ways to Game

This update opens up new possibilities for gaming. Imagine this: you're at a friend's place, and you can still play your PS5 games while they watch a movie on the same console. Or, you can keep gaming on the go, even if your PS5 is off or someone else is using it at home. All you need is a strong Wi-Fi connection.

Interface Makeover

The Portal's interface got a fresh look. Now, the home screen has three tabs: Remote Play, Cloud Streaming, and Search. This makes it super easy to jump into cloud streaming right from the start.

3D Audio Support

The update also brings 3D Audio support for compatible games and headphones. So, you can immerse yourself in spatial sound whether you're using wired headphones or wireless ones like the Pulse Explore earbuds or Pulse Elite headset.

Security and Network Features

Want to keep your Portal secure? Now you can set a passcode. Just head to Settings > System > Passcode.

And here's a handy feature: a network status screen. You can check your connection quality quickly during Cloud Streaming or Remote Play. Just open the Quick menu and go to Troubleshoot > Show Network Status.

In-Game Store Support

The update also brings in-game store support during Cloud Streaming. So, you can buy add-ons and in-game currencies without leaving your game. Plus, there are new accessibility options like screen reader and adjustable text size. You can find these in Settings > Cloud Streaming > Accessibility Settings.

Game Invites

Lastly, you can now receive game invites from friends during Cloud Streaming. Just pop into the Quick menu to join a multiplayer session.
