POCUS in the ED: What Helps and What Hinders

Point-of-care ultrasound, or POCUS, is a common tool in emergency medicine. But not all doctors use it the same way. Researchers at a big city hospital in the U. S. wanted to find out why. Others worried about making mistakes. And some thought the machines were expensive or hard to find. So, what can be done? The study suggests that training and support could help. If hospitals make it easy for doctors to learn and use POCUS, maybe more will use it. And that could be good for patients.
