Political Polls: Harris and Trump Neck and Neck

In the latest political polls, Vice President Kamala Harris seems to be losing her edge against former President Donald Trump. Three major polls show that Harris' lead has been shrinking, with less than a month left until the election. The NBC News poll found that Harris has dropped six percentage points, giving Trump a slight lead of 47% to 46%. Last month, Harris was ahead by 47% to 41%. Another poll by ABC News/Ipsos also showed a tightening race, with Harris up by just 2 points among likely voters. Even in the CBS News/YouGov poll, Harris' lead has narrowed to 51% to 48%.

Experts believe Harris needs a larger lead to win, as Trump supporters may not respond to polls, and Republicans have an advantage in the electoral college. Internal Democratic polls have shown Harris losing in key swing states like Wisconsin and Michigan. This has been worrying for Democrats, while many Republicans are already celebrating a victory. The shift in the polls might be due to Harris' declining favorability, especially among younger and independent voters. The NBC News survey showed that Harris' positive ratings have dropped to 43%, with 49% negative. On key issues, Trump leads on the economy, inflation, immigration, and the Middle East conflict. Harris, however, is ahead on abortion, looking out for the middle class, and safeguarding democracy.
