Powering Up Digital Skills: MMU and Huawei Team Up!
MalaysiaFriday, November 1, 2024
Oliver Liu, Huawei Malaysia's vice president, highlighted that the ICT sector employs 7. 8% of Malaysia’s workforce, creating a high demand for expertise in emerging technologies. However, education programs often struggle to keep up with rapid tech advancements. The IASC will help address this gap by ensuring academies operate efficiently and produce graduates with relevant skills.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Shenzhen, China, formalizing this collaboration. MMU will integrate Huawei ICT Academy courses into its curriculum and provide instructors to deliver training programs. The university will also monitor student progress and support the academies in securing certification exam vouchers.
Huawei Malaysia has already set up 40 ICT academies nationwide and trained over 54, 000 individuals, exceeding its target of 50, 000 by 2025.
