Purdy suffered the injury during a Monday night game against the Lions. An MRI was conducted to assess the damage.

Shanahan described the injury as a bruise with nerve irritation. Purdy had surgery on his right elbow after a similar injury during his rookie season in the NFC Championship Game. However, Shanahan assured that this latest injury doesn't pose long-term concerns. Purdy will be eligible to sign a contract extension this offseason, although he is still under contract for the 2025 season.
