Rapper Jay-Z's Foundation Teams Up for HBCU Financial Literacy
Norfolk, VA, USAFriday, November 15, 2024
Gloria Carter, who co-founded the foundation with her son Jay-Z, is excited about the impact this program could have. She believes it's a step towards empowering communities that are often overlooked. Dr. Keith Weigelt from Wharton agrees, saying that financial literacy can help strengthen the middle class by helping people generate wealth.
Starting in the spring of 2025, students at Lincoln University, Norfolk State University, and Virginia State University will be the first to benefit from this program. But the Shawn Carter Foundation has bigger plans. They want to eventually extend this financial literacy boost to even more HBCUs across the country.
