Rep. Roy's Plan: Boost Health Savings Accounts

Congressman Chip Roy from Texas is not wasting any time. He's just introduced a new healthcare bill called the Healthcare Freedom Act. The idea? The bill would increase how much people can put into these accounts each year. Individuals could add $12, 000, and couples could add $24, 000. Seniors get a boost too, with an extra $5, 000 they can put in. And the best part? You can use this money tax-free for things like doctor visits, prescriptions, and even long-term care.

Roy also wants to make it easier for people to join direct primary care. This means you pay a fixed fee every month to your doctor. No more waiting around for months to see a doctor or sticking with the same one just because of insurance. It's all about giving patients more options and better care, according to Roy. This isn't the first time Roy has suggested changes to healthcare. He's been pushing for this kind of reform for a while now.
