Retirement of a TV PR Legend
Audrey Beth Davis, a lifelong champion of beloved TV shows, passed away at 82. Her career began straight after high school when she joined a production company that ran the popular game show “The Match Game.”
She later transitioned into public relations, working for Stone Associates in the 1970s before joining a new firm led by Dick Lippin. That company evolved into The Lippin Group, where she remained until 2008.
During her tenure, Davis helped promote iconic shows that still resonate today:
- “The Golden Girls”
- “Empty Nest”
- The long‑running cruise ship drama “The Love Boat.”
She also played a key role in publicizing several installments of the “Law & Order” franchise, including its special‑victims unit and criminal intent spin‑offs.
Colleagues say she died of natural causes in Pennsylvania, surrounded by friends and family. They remembered her as a dedicated professional who made television history possible.
