Rewriting the Script: LSU's Film and Television Program Expands with $200k State Grant
Louisiana, United StatesSunday, September 15, 2024
As Jason Jamerson, LSU's Digital Art Professor, mentioned, the expansion will provide students with more specific training and prepare them for high-end jobs in the industry. But what about the students who are new to the program? Will they be able to catch up with their peers who have already received this specialized training?
One of the most significant benefits of this expansion is the potential to attract more students to the program. As Shelby Scianneaus, a student, so eloquently put it, "This is just a whole new horizon that you can add to your belt." But what about the students who are already enrolled in the program? Will they be able to take advantage of these new opportunities, or will they be left behind?
Another important consideration is the impact this expansion will have on the state's film industry. By training more students in traditional film techniques, LSU is essentially preparing them for jobs in the industry. But what about the industry itself? Will the expansion lead to more film productions in the state, or will it simply create more job opportunities for students?
