Royal Focus Shifts to Children's Hospices

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, had a different plan for her week. Instead of attending the Royal Ascot, she chose to highlight her work with children's hospices. This decision came during Children’s Hospice Week, a time dedicated to recognizing the vital role these hospices play. Middleton's message was clear and impactful. She spoke about the harsh reality that many families face when their children are diagnosed with serious health conditions. These families often feel isolated and overwhelmed. As the patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice in South Wales, she has witnessed firsthand the incredible work these hospices do. Middleton's involvement goes beyond just patronage. She has visited numerous hospices during her overseas tours, showing her commitment to the cause. In January, she visited Tŷ Hafan in Sully, South Wales, a hospice built with the support of Princess Diana. Her visit left a lasting impression on the staff and families. Despite missing the Royal Ascot, Middleton made an appearance at the annual Trooping the Colour in London. She joined Prince William and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to honor King Charles. The event, held every June, is one of the royal family’s most significant celebrations. The royal family dynamics continue to evolve. Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, were notably absent from the festivities. This marks the third year in a row they have not been invited, reflecting ongoing tensions within the family.
