A man on the run.  That is what the police are dealing with today.  Let’s talk about Nicholas Voutsas, the guy who managed to slip away from law enforcement.  He was being transported by a van to a hospital in Newark.  This wasn’t just any hospital trip.  It’s a clear spot to try to get away.  There is always so much going on.  It was 9 AM. The van was parked, or stopped, or maybe slowed down in an area near "South Range Avenue and Bergen Street" in Newark, Essex County.  Why was he being taken to the hospital?  Is he sick?  Was it a regular check up?  No one really knows.  One thing we do know.  He was wearing a burgundy or maroon winter coat.  He was last seen in that area.

    Why is this man so significant?  He is a Tier 2 sex offender.  He was convicted in 2022 for luring a child.  The details surrounding Nicholas Voutsas’ sex offenses are hazy.  The state police are not providing any information.  Some sources say he has been determined to be a middle risk of re-offense.  This classifies him as being in need of reporting to schools and daycares in the vicinity.  This means he’s not just a guy on the run.  He is a registered offender in the state of New Jersey.  This is serious because it means he has a level of risk that was determined.  People need to be aware of his risk of re-offense.

    Here is the red flag.  New Jersey State Police say he is a compulsive repetitive sex offender.  Nicholas is a petty criminal, but he is 25 years old.  He is 5 feet 11 inches tall.  He has brown hair and blue eyes.  He has a mole on his right cheek.  How often do you see someone running from the law on the way to a hospital for a check-up?  Remember, it was a van.  It is a moving target.  This is a man who has been caught and convicted previously.
