Russia Keeps Talking to the U. S. About Ending Ukraine Conflict
Russia says it is still in contact with the United States about a possible resolution to the war in Ukraine.
The Kremlin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters that Moscow is receiving updates from Washington and hopes the U.S. will keep working toward a settlement.
Peskov added that Russia is open to dialogue and welcomes the U.S. effort to create conditions for a peace agreement. He said that existing communication channels are being used to share information and stay informed about the situation.
Earlier in the week, a Russian newspaper reported that lawmakers from the State Duma might visit Washington soon. Peskov welcomed any form of discussion with the U.S., saying such a trip would benefit both sides.
The Russian side stresses that it wants to continue the conversation and is ready for talks. It also encourages Washington to keep mediating so that a solution can be reached.
The overall message is that Russia remains engaged with the U.S. and wants to see progress toward ending hostilities in Ukraine.
