San Luis Valley Football Stars Shine in 2025 All-State Teams
The Colorado High School Activities Association made a significant announcement on Monday, revealing the 2025 All-State football teams. A remarkable 24 athletes from the San Luis Valley earned recognition, showcasing the region's football prowess.
Eight-Man Teams: Sanford High School Shines
Sanford High School led the way with seven players recognized. Four earned first-team honors:
- Ryan Cordova (Senior Lineman)
- J. D. Faucette (Senior Running Back & Defensive End)
- Trason Gartrell (Senior Quarterback & Linebacker)
- Lucas Miller (Junior Lineman)
William Malouff (Senior Lineman) secured a second-team spot, while Bryce Keck and Rylan Mortensen were honorable mentions.
Class 1A: Centauri and Monte Vista Excel
Eleven local players made the Class 1A teams, with six from Centauri and five from Monte Vista.
Centauri's standout was Carson Shawcroft (Senior Wide Receiver & Free Safety), a first-team selection. Spencer Smith (Senior Lineman) earned a second-team spot, while Marcos Atencio, Leland Chacon, Cole Jackson, and Dallyn King were honorable mentions.
Monte Vista had two second-team players: Zach Gallegos and Kelby Mondragon. Chayse Bouet, Azariah Hurtado, and Manny Jiron received honorable mentions.
Class 2A: Alamosa's Contenders
Alamosa, competing in Class 2A, had three players recognized: Josh Gonzalez, Tony Griego, and Brennan Maez, all as honorable mentions.
Six-Man Category: Sierra Grande's Stars
Sierra Grande in the six-man category had three players honored:
- Jadyn Martinez (First-Team)
- Rolando Najera (Second-Team)
- Carlos Lopez (Honorable Mention)
