“Sara Netanyahu Under Scrutiny: Wife of Israeli PM Faces Harassment Probe”

Israel's top legal officer, Gali Baharav-Miara, has kicked off an investigation into Sara Netanyahu, the spouse of Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This comes after a TV report claimed she was harassing witnesses in her husband's trial. The report, aired on Channel 12, also hinted that she might have indirectly harassed the attorney general and the deputy state attorney. Before the investigation was announced, Prime Minister Netanyahu stood up for his wife. He called the report biased and false in a video message. He even suggested that the TV channel should look into the left-wing camp instead.

Israel's Justice Minister, Yariv Levin, wasn't happy with the attorney general's decision. He felt it was unfair that only certain people were being investigated. The far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, also criticized the attorney general. Prime Minister Netanyahu's corruption trial started in 2020. He's the first Israeli PM to face court while in office. He denies all charges, which include fraud, breach of trust, and bribery. The cases involve gifts he allegedly received and favors he might have given to a telecom company.
