Scientists Explain UFO Orbs, but One Case Stays Mysterious

Some researchers suggest that bright orbs observed by U.S. officials might simply be harmless laser tricks.
One expert points out that powerful lasers can create glowing spots in the air, much like a cat chasing a laser pointer. These spots move quickly without making noise or sparks.

The U.S. government already uses such lasers to protect bases from drones and missiles, so it’s plausible that some orb reports stem from these devices.

However, a particular sighting in October 2023 near a secure military site puzzles scientists. Federal agents saw orange and red balls that hovered for hours, moved together, and even seemed to launch smaller orbs.

The Pentagon’s Anomaly Office wrote that the objects behaved in ways no current laser could produce. One scientist said that to explain them, one would need lasers far stronger than any in use today.

Another council member agrees that this “mother orb” event is a top concern and admits no ordinary explanation fits.

Some scientists have tried to explain the phenomenon with natural lightning balls that appear after storms, but those typically vanish within seconds, not hours.
