Shooting at Iran's Supreme Court: A Look into the Tragic Event

On a Saturday morning, Iran's supreme court in Tehran witnessed a shocking incident. Two prominent judges, Ali Razini and Mohammad Moghisseh, lost their lives in a shooting. The gunman, who acted alone, took his own life after the attack. Another person was injured, as reported by state media. Razini and Moghisseh were well-known for handling cases related to national security, espionage, and terrorism. The motive behind the killing remains unclear, but authorities assured that the assailant wasn't involved in any ongoing supreme court cases.

President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his condolences and urged immediate action. He emphasized the need to swiftly investigate the incident and identify the perpetrators. Moghisseh, 68, had been sanctioned by the US in 2019 for his role in unfair trials. Razini, 71, had survived a previous assassination attempt in 1998.
