Simone Biles, the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history, is taking a leap into the culinary world. In the first quarter of 2025, she will open a restaurant called Taste of Gold inside the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in her hometown of Houston, Texas. Biles has partnered with The Playmakers Group, a company that specializes in creating athlete-themed restaurants in airports. This new venture will offer a unique dining experience featuring signature menu items with flavors that Biles loves. Biles, a self-proclaimed foodie, is excited to bring her passion for food to the airport. "I'm thrilled to partner with The Playmakers Group and their dedicated team to bring a new restaurant to my hometown airport," she said. "We hope to provide a beautiful dining experience that features award-winning menu items and some of my favorite flavors." The Playmakers Group has experience in creating athlete-themed restaurants, including one in partnership with Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. Although details about the menu are not yet available, the name Taste of Gold is fitting for Biles, who has earned four Olympic medals, including three gold medals, at the Paris Games this summer. With her impressive Olympic record, Biles is just two gold medals away from tying Larisa Latynina of the Soviet Union for the most gold medals won by a female gymnast in Olympic history. Before focusing on her culinary career, Biles was already making headlines for her remarkable gymnastics skills. At 27 years old, she is the oldest American woman to qualify for the Olympics since 1952. Although she hasn't ruled out competing in her fourth career Olympics at the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, her priorities are currently shifting towards her new restaurant venture.
