Snares of Fear: A Thai Woman's Encounter with a Constricting Python
Thailand, Samut PrakanFriday, September 20, 2024
Arom recalled the terrifying moment, saying, "I was about to scoop some water and when I sat down, it bit me immediately. When I looked, I saw the snake wrapping around me." Despite her best efforts to free herself, the python only tightened its grip. She grabbed the snake's head, but it refused to release her.
The python, a non-venomous constrictor, had Arom trapped for nearly two hours before a neighbor happened to hear her screams and alerted the authorities. Responding police officers and animal control officers used a crowbar to hit the snake on the head, eventually releasing their grip. Arom was treated for several bites and appeared to be otherwise unharmed.
