Snowy Surprises: How Much Will Metro Detroit Get?
Michigan, USAThursday, February 13, 2025
The morning commute on Thursday might be a bit tricky, with snow showers still lingering from 3 AM to 9 AM. But don't worry, by later in the morning, the snow will start to ease up, leaving just a few flurries behind.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 1 PM Wednesday to 7 AM Thursday for the western and southern counties. Expect 3-5 inches of snow, which will make roads slippery and travel difficult. There might also be a bit of ice in Lenawee, Monroe, and parts of Wayne County, which could slightly reduce snow totals.
Livingston, Oakland, and Macomb counties will see mainly snow with higher totals of 5-7 inches. Snowfall rates could reach 0. 75 inches per hour Wednesday night, which will make driving dangerous.
As of now, these counties and those up into the Thumb are under a Winter Storm Watch, which could be upgraded to a warning or advisory later tonight or tomorrow morning.
Remember, winter storms can be unpredictable, so it's important to stay informed. Keep an eye on local weather updates and be prepared for changing conditions. Safe travels!
