Southern Colorado Braces for Extreme Cold and Snow
Southern Colorado, USASunday, January 19, 2025
As we move from Sunday night into Monday morning, there's a chance for snow across the High Country Region, the I-25 corridor, and the Eastern Plains. Most of Southern Colorado can expect lows below zero, with a few Eastern Plains towns dipping into the single digits. Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be the coldest day of this cold spell, with highs in the single digits or teens across Southern Colorado.
Monday night is set to be extremely cold, with an Extreme Cold Watch in effect from Monday afternoon until Tuesday morning. Wind chills could drop to dangerous levels below 31 degrees. Stay indoors to avoid the harsh conditions. Lows on Monday night will range from single to double digits below zero.
Tuesday finally brings some warmth, with highs in the upper 20s to 30s and sunny skies across Southern Colorado. As the work week progresses, temperatures will rise above freezing by the middle of the week, with sunny skies continuing. By Friday, temperatures should reach the 40s, and the region will remain dry.
