Space Traveler’s Unexpected Hospital Stay Ends Quickly
Pensacola, USASunday, October 27, 2024
The Crew-8 mission was a big deal, with astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, Jeanette Epps, and cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin spending 235 days in space. That’s the longest any American crewed spacecraft has been up there. When they returned on October 25, they seemed okay, but a few hours later, NASA decided they should all go to the hospital for extra checks. Three of them were let go soon after, but one stayed overnight.
NASA hasn’t said much about why this happened. They did say there were no problems with the spacecraft or the return, and that the crew was doing great after splashdown. It’s just a mystery why one astronaut needed extra medical attention.
