Did you know there's a puzzle game that's all about sports? It's called Connections: Sports Edition. It's not too hard, but it can get a bit tricky sometimes. It's been out of beta since Super Bowl Sunday, February 9th.  That means it's here to stay and has enough fans to keep it going.

You can find it in The Athletic app, or you can play it for free online. It's not in the NYT Games app.  The Athletic is a sports news site that you pay for.  It's owned by the same people who own the New York Times.

Let's talk about the hints for today's puzzle. There are four groups, each with a different theme. The easiest one is the yellow group, and it's about winning. The green group is about someone from Los Angeles. The blue group is about fishing gear. The purple group is about a group or bunch of people.  The clues are not always easy to figure out.  Some of them can be a bit strange.

The yellow group is about awards. The answers are cup, medal, plaque, and trophy. The green group is about a Los Angeles athlete. The answers are Clipper, King, Ram, and Spark. The blue group is about fishing baits and lures. The answers are plug, spinner, spoon, and worm. The purple group is about a group or bunch of people. The answers are brew, Columbus, ground, and officiating.

You might be wondering, what's the big deal about this puzzle? Well, it's a fun way to test your sports knowledge and problem-solving skills. It's also a great way to learn more about sports and athletes.  It's a bit like a game of word association.
