Steel City Success: Justin Fields' Star Shines Bright
Pittsburgh, USASunday, September 22, 2024
The Chargers struggled without their starting quarterback, Justin Herbert, who left the game in the third quarter with an ankle injury. Taylor Heinicke came in and was sacked three times, and the Chargers had little hope of rallying once their quarterback left the game. Los Angeles also saw several key players leave with injuries, including left tackle Rashawn Slater and edge rusher Joey Bosa.
Austin had a career-high 95 receiving yards, and George Pickens had five catches for 57 yards. Najee Harris and Cordarrelle Patterson combined for 103 rushing yards, including several big runs to kill the clock late in the fourth quarter. The Steelers' 346 yards of offense was a key factor in their victory, and they'll look to continue that trend in their next game against the Indianapolis Colts.
